Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

I discovered the Wednesday Word Art blog from a very nice comment left by Karen.  Therefore, I thought is would be fun to join in with the current challenge and add an inspired card to the mix.  I have been pleased to see some lovely stamps on the market with scripture and used a stamp set from Papertrey Ink to create the card below.  You can visit the Word Art Wednesday Challenge here.

SSS Stencil It Challenge

This week's challenge was to use a stencil is some creative way.  I decided to use my Prima Fluttering Flowers stencil to dry emboss the background of my card.  I just recently added to my Sizzix Big Shot the Impressions pad and plate so I have had some fun experimenting with the dry embossing technique using my stencils.  After adding the embossing I lightly blended some pink ink to bring out the embossed areas.

Make-it-Monday A LA CARTE

For this Make-it-Monday I decided to experiment with layering cover plate die cuts.  The original challenge video can be viewed here.  I used my peony cover plate and cut it in two colors, one white and one black.  I layered the black behind the white and offset the image sideways and slightly vertical to give the image depth.  For the background I chose a medium blue patterned paper so I could have nice contrast.  This was so easy to complete and still a lovely result.

Adding Color to Stamped Images

This weeks Make-it-Monday at Papertrey Ink was interesting and took me more than one attempt to get a nice result.  I only have watercolor pencils so my result was not as vivid as Laurie's lovely example but I still liked the effect.  I embossed the white background with a Tim Holtz stencil using my Sizzix Big Shot.

My tiny stars on this card are the stars from the Scene It Skyscapes die set.  I had not tried to glue such small paper shapes to a card before, but it turned out fine.

December 2015 Blog Hop - Papertrey Ink

It's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and finally I have some time to play along.  This month's inspiration is the picture below and so festive.

I love the high contrast of black and white and the touch of green and red is beautiful.  I loved the challenge suggestion of using sprigs from the Winter Floral die so out came my scissors.  Here is my card.  The green sprigs and the white flowers are cut from the Winter Floral Die. I added the center to my flowers with a stamp from the Twig Wreath Stamp Set.

Motif Building

This week's Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday challenge had me looking more closely at all my stamp sets and thinking about shapes in a different way.  I had not tried to build a motif before so I had fun trying to put something together that resembled a motif design.  I ended up using three different stamp sets and kept myself to a Christmas theme.  I added to my stamped design little red pearl drops for the ornaments on the trees.  Here is my card.

Papertrey Ink Create Along with Us: September 2015

I really liked all the designer samples that had white or neutral and another predominant darker color.  With that in mind I thought about creating a winter scene and this is what I came up with.

My slope the deer are standing on is white pigment ink blended on the the paper.  I heat set my slope and embossed the sentiment.  I added a bit of glitter to a few branches in the trees to make them sparkle a little but my photo really doesn't show that addition.
