SAF 2015:Threads Challenge

This is the first time I have ever put thread nested on a card.  I can't say why I have not tried it because I love the look. After putting this card together I am sure I will use it again. Here is my take on Laura Bassen's wonderful card.

Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge

This month's blog hop has such great warm colors for our inspiration.  Here is the photo.  Fall is my favorite season so these colors were right in line for some very special cards.

I got to use the new brushed off stamp set which is just too fun to work with.  This first card was also inspired by Betsy Veldmen who had an amazing card in her Autumn Style post.

The branching out die was so versatile, in the card above I used both the stamped die cut and the reverse image kissed into the brushed off stamp.  Then I used the stencil image of the branched out die to blend in the leaves in the next card.
I enjoyed the blended leaves enough to try that same technique with my Leaf Print dies on this next card.
Last I did some direct stamping with the Leaf Print Stamp set because I wanted some crisp purple/pink leaves on this card.

Products Used:
Papertrey Ink Counting my Blessings stamp set and dies
Papertrey Ink Brushed Off stamp set
Leaf Prints stamp set and dies
Papertrey Ink Summer Hills stamp set

Papertrey Ink - Create Along with Us Challenge

As I have watched the release for Papertrey Ink unveil this month there are definitely a few products I would love to have.  In particular I have the twig wreath stamp set on my mind and have already imagined some fun cards with that product.  Therefore, I had to create a card with a wreath for the challenge.  This one I put together using the Mini Blooms stamp set and the sentiment form Autumn Hills.  Without a circle base I decided to trace a light green circle with a pale green colored pencil, it gave me a nice shape to follow.

Papertrey Ink Make-It-Monday: Texture Kissing

I had a great time trying out my various background stamps with this week's Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink - Texture Kissing.  You can check out the post here.  After a few attempts  with a different stamps I found a combination I really liked.  I used by PTI Bloomers flower with an older background stamp I have had for many many years.  My leaves and sentiment are from the PTI Daydreamer stamp set.

I created a second card that was just a slight variation of this design because I wanted to experiment with the color blue.
For this card I used the same PTI Bloomers stamp but got out my PTI Embellished Elegance stamp set to create the leaves.  The sentiment is  from the PTI Scripted stamp set which is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The frame for both cards is the PTI Shaker Shapes: Circle die.

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

This month's blog hop challenge allowed us to explore all our butterfly products.  I wanted to do something similar to the vintage look in the challenge photo.  What a lovely display of butterflies.

I decided to stick with pink and a neutral color, so kraft paper entered my project.
I stamped the background leaves with PTI Kraft ink using the large leaves from the PTI Meadow Greens stamp set, then added Raspberry Fizz and black dots along with dew drops I created with Glossy Accents.  The Butterfly was cut using from white card stock then I blended on PTI Raspberry Fizz ink.  The small leaves I stamped with the same color using the smallest leaf stamp in my PTI Garden Gild Mini Kit.    The sentiment if from the PTI Meadow Greens stamp set.

Papertrey Ink Meadow Greens Stamp Set
Paptertry Ink Garden Guild Mini Kit

Creating your own custom borders

This week's Make-it-Monday at Papertrey Ink had us making our own custom borders with stamped images.  I decided on using my sketched shapes stamp set and kept the border simple.  I used some greens, blues and a bit of yellow to set the tone.  The dots I added just for fun. I always pull these dots stamps out of the Life is Beautiful stamp set when I get the urge to add dots to a card.  They probably get used as much (or more) than the butterflies in that set.

Products Used:
Papertrey Ink Sketched Shapes Stamp Set
