This week's Make-it-Monday at Papertrey Ink had us blending ink over a heat embossed image. As I have gotten better at ink blending I am finding I really enjoy it. What was so nice about Danielle's sample card it that it used a die I own in a new way. I am always looking for new ways to use my templates and dies, so I was inspired by Danielle's use of the You've been Framed:Oval Die. As a result I had to give her card design a try.
I love texture on cards so as I created the card below I immediately thought it would be another good entry for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. I really admire the design work of Kay Miller and the card below was inspired by her lovely work.
I thought I would join in this week's Case this Sketch Challenge with Sketch #162. Here is the sketch.
My Card has some texture to background (dots embossing) and the top layer has a dry embossed rose design I applied by using a stencil from Tim Holtz in my Big Shot. I tried to emphasize the rose embossing by lightly brushing a bit of pink ink over the top. My rose flowers, leaves and sentiment are from Paypertrey Ink.I have so much fun with ink blending that this week's Make-It-Monday at Papertrey Ink was right up my alley. I have slowly been collecting stencils but have not yet purchased the new PTI stencil set, however they are on my wishlist. Therefore, I used a Hero Arts stencil for this card. I have used PTI Raspberry Fizz, PTI Berry Sorbet and Stampabilities Mustard ink for my blended background.
